MyTown Communities and Rentifi Property Management are proud to announce that both companies have officially achieved certification through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Renovation, Repair and Painting Program, also known as the EPA RRP Certification Program.
In addition to company certification, co owners Samuel Kaplan and Olivia Kaplan have each earned their individual EPA Certified Renovator credentials, further strengthening the companies’ commitment to safety, compliance, and professional property management standards throughout Southwest Florida.
This achievement positions MyTown Communities as what is believed to be the only HOA and condominium association management company in Southwest Florida to hold EPA Renovation, Repair and Painting Firm Certification.
What is EPA RRP Certification?

The EPA Renovation, Repair and Painting Program was created to protect homeowners, residents, contractors, and communities from the dangers associated with lead based paint exposure during renovation, repair, and maintenance projects.
Federal law requires firms performing qualifying renovation work in homes, condominiums, apartments, and child occupied facilities built before 1978 to follow lead safe work practices and maintain EPA certification.
Under the EPA RRP Rule, certified firms and certified renovators are trained to:
• Minimize lead dust contamination
• Protect residents and workers during renovations
• Properly contain and clean work areas
• Follow federally approved lead safe practices
• Maintain compliance with EPA safety standards
These regulations are especially important in older condominium associations, HOA communities, apartment buildings, and residential properties throughout Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Estero, Naples, and surrounding Southwest Florida communities where lead based paint may still exist.
Why EPA Certification Matters for HOA and Condominium Associations
Community associations and property owners trust management companies to oversee maintenance, repairs, renovations, and vendor coordination safely and professionally.
By achieving EPA Lead Safe Certification, MyTown Communities demonstrates its commitment to:
• Resident safety and community health
• Professional maintenance coordination
• Regulatory compliance
• Safe renovation and repair oversight
• Industry leading operational standards
For condominium boards, HOA boards, homeowners, and property investors, working with an EPA Certified property management company provides additional peace of mind when coordinating maintenance and renovation projects in older buildings and communities.
Leadership Committed to Professional Standards
Samuel Kaplan and Olivia Kaplan individually completed EPA approved renovator training and certification programs to ensure in house expertise and operational oversight when coordinating maintenance and renovation projects.
“Protecting our residents, owners, vendors, and communities has always been one of our highest priorities,” said Olivia Kaplan, MBA, REALTOR®, CFRM™, RMP®, CEO and Co Owner of Rentifi Property Management and MyTown Communities.
